      I’m a sucker for black and white photographs, but in this case I enjoyed the colored photos more. You get to really see the beauty and deep tones of red/rust in the rocks! Absolutely stunning!

    Like all of the photography you share, these images are stunning. You have a remarkable talent for finding beauty in your subjects and then bringing it forward and making it available for those of us who are lucky enough to view your images to experience. People throw around words like “breath-taking” and “spectacular” somewhat glibly these days, but those are words that are entirely appropriate to describe the photos you’ve shared here.

    Marco, your eye for imagery and composition never cease to amaze me! Each one of your photos causes me to pause and look at every detail and take it all in. Your work is breathtaking and rich. And of course I love the color! That being said, I’d love to see some black and white with an accent of something in color, like either the sky or stones… just to see what you’d compose in contrast would be really interesting! Keep taking such gorgeous photos! I’m a fan forever!

    These are such incredible photos! I’m in love with all of the work you have done, but the colored photos really have my heart. Along with the idea you mentioned about the Earth creating natural art pieces to be captured, I feel that the photos are best presented how to Earth has presented them, in color. Love your work, props to you for such wonderful artwork!

    I like the color photos the best. I think it’s the 2nd pic that looks like meringue peaks. Charred a sugary brown. But every one is really stunning.

    I’ve only been to the desert once in Moab, UT and I didn’t know what to photograph then.

    Beautiful photographs! Excellent design and compositions. It’s fun to see these abstract nature images from Vegas. I imagine it’s a much different experience than working with models. What a treat. Ryan and I visited this park too and we saw a rattlesnake. Glad you’re getting to travel and shoot for fun.

      I have been drawn to deserts from my very first to one, the Sinai in 1982. It’s fun searching for the shapes and patters, large and small, etched in to the rock. I’m really glad we didn’t encounter any snakes, Becky is not a fan.

      Katy, it was fun to shoot in a new place both landscapes and with models. AnnaClaire and I participated in a workshop early in the trip and we went back for a day right before we came home.     Jane and I were in Utah last week 4-23/ 5-1.
    I thought that you would be impressed with the area as a photographer.
    Get to Arches Canyon Lands and Capital Reef National parks if you can.
    All yoos guys photos are spectacular. A lot of work to get these results.

      Thanks Pete! On past trips to Las Vegas we visited Red Rock Canyon but it has become a very popular destination. Since my deployment to the Sinai in 1982, I’ve always found deserts to be fascinating. On our next trip we’ll have to try and get to Arches.
