“Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.” ~Kahlil Gibran
Every one of us has women in our life, whether it’s mother, daughter, sister, friend, or spouse. As soon as you know them, you see their beauty, when so often they seem blind to it themselves. The degree to which these wonderful women dislike their looks, their bodies, and themselves in this era is heartbreaking.
Women are so many things to so many people. They raise us, teach us, inspire us, and are our best friends and closest family. Often they give of their time and talents so selflessly to others that they forget to do things for themselves.
For these special people it is impossible to think of them as anything but beautiful. The light they bring to the world that illuminates the dark corners in others is what makes them beautiful, and all the lives they touch.
But that is not the message that abounds in the media and entertainment industry. To make a pretty penny off the unhappiness of these cherished souls, they indoctrinate women from a young age for happiness and self-worth to be tied to something as petty as physical appearance.
And as they age, the message grows louder and louder. When they were young, they were still unhappy with their looks. Now the media tells them to return, return to the age of youth where they had so much but were blind to it, where they were still unhappy. That is the cyclical nature of the message to hate oneself based on physical characteristics.
That is why it is revolutionary to decide to love yourself, and a great accomplishment to break free of these standards we have been primed to accept to see yourself as you truly are. The first step is to show you how others see you: beautiful and inspiring. Beyond playing to your natural assets, we will show you your inner light. Well, you will show your inner light; we’ll just get it on camera.
