Getting the day off to a great start
What better way to begin the day than with a scenic drive through Alaska’s breathtaking landscape on the way to take Senior photos.
Earlier this month, my assistant and I set out from our studio in Eagle River and made our way toward Sheep Mountain Lodge near Matanuska Glacier. Once there we had plans to fly out to the glacier for a truly unforgettable Senior session. The drive itself was nothing short of stunning but we knew something better was still to come. Not too long after we arrived, so did our high school Senior and his father, both ready for the adventure ahead.
After a quick safety briefing with the pilot from Sheep Mountain Air and a rundown of the gear we’d be bringing along, it was time to load up the helicopter. Moments later, we were airborne!
We spent about an hour out on the glacier, making the most of every second before it was time to head back. Once we returned to the lodge and unloaded our equipment, we couldn’t help but laugh at the irony. It was noticeably colder back at the lodge than it had been out on the glacier.
An unforgettable Senior session from start to finish, and one that perfectly captures why we love what we do. We look forward to the opportunity to do it again!
