In the Water for Senior Photos
Ever Thought About Getting in the Water for your Senior Photos?
Let’s Get in the Water for Senior Photos
Would you be brave enough to get in the water for a photo? We found someone who was!
Regina came to us with the idea to be standing out in the water. After a lengthy discussion about how chilly the water can be, we could not change her mind about wanting to get in the water. She came prepared with blankets, towels and a positive attitude!
We captured some stunning photos of her, and we can’t wait to see what else we create with her this year!

Water Photography: Creating Unique Portraits
Water can create a dramatic setting for your Senior photos. It adds movement, texture, and reflection. Most importantly, it creates images that feel different from traditional portraits.
First, consider the location. A lake, river, beach, or pool can create a completely different mood. For example, calm water can create a peaceful and elegant look. Meanwhile, moving water can add energy and excitement.
Clothing also plays an important role. Flowing dresses and lightweight fabrics can move beautifully through the water. However, choose clothing that feels comfortable and works well when wet. Darker fabrics can create a dramatic appearance. In contrast, lighter colors can create a soft and dreamy feel.
Lighting matters, too. We’ll help you pick the best time of day for the look you want to create. Early morning and evening often provide beautiful light. Furthermore, cloudy skies can create soft, even illumination. Reflections can also add another layer to the image.
Next, think about movement. Walking through shallow water can create natural motion. Sitting near the edge can produce a more relaxed portrait. You can also splash and play in the water for fun image.
Safety should always come first. We will choose a location with safe footing and manageable water conditions. Avoid strong currents, deep water, and slippery areas. In addition, work with someone who understands the location and changing conditions.
Finally, water portraits offer plenty of creative possibilities. They can feel adventurous, elegant, mysterious, or playful. Therefore, a water session can create portraits that truly stand apart from ordinary photographs.
